The name "Sorrel" is inspired by the specific rusty red hue found in American Quarter Horses the color shared by the dramatic mesas of red rock surrounding our resort and spa.
The private Equestrian Centre offers rides for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders, including both group and private trail rides. The expert wranglers provide tours of the trails with vistas and views over the Colorado River Valley.
Ida Gulch Ride: Time: 2 Hours; Rating: Easy
The trail winds its way up and over the rolling foothills below Perriot Mesa. Max 12 guests. $108.00 per rider.
Ridge Top Ride: Time: 2 Hours; Rating: Moderate
Breathtaking views from greater heights. Some steep slopes and must be comfortable in the saddle. $121.00 per rider.
Stearn's Creek Wash: Time: 2.5 - 3 Hours; Rating: Moderate to Advanced, perfect for more experienced riders who wish to spend more than two hours in the saddle. Riders make their way through Stearn's Creek Wash, travel up steep grades to view some of Moab's most recognizable landmarks. $223.00 per rider.
For those guests who wish to experience the West with their own guide, private rides are available, as well as each ride listed above. Advance reservation is required. $130 per rider, per hour.
