Rides out in spectacular Alpine landscape on Haflingers.
The much loved Haflinger has been an established breed since the 1800ís and orginates from the Tyrol area of Austria and Northern Italy. They take their name from the village of Hafling, and are a cross between the local Tyrol pony and Arab. Always chestnut in colour and with their distinctive flaxen mane and tail, they are sturdy yet energetic, surefooted enough to manage the steep mountain paths in their homeland, yet graceful enough to adapt to dressage and other disciplines under saddle. They are friendly and loveable creatures and are renowned for their sprightly gait and rocking horse canter. They are ideal trail riding horses and though small (usually between 13.2 hh and 15hh) are able to carry an adult with ease.

Driving courses
You can take a carriage ride to explore the local area (or sleigh rides in Winter) or you can learn how to take the reins yourself in various carriages and marathon carriages The riding and carriage-driving instructor Hannes Weitlaner practices the sport of driving at international level. Tuition is given by the three-time Italian champion and participant in the one-horse carriage-driving world championships.

Ride and Spa:
The Riding Spa is specially designed for horse riders. The treatments aid recuperation and regeneration after a long day in the saddle. Examples include hot hay and herb treatments, horse hair brush exfoliation scrubs as well as the trademark 'Rider's Massage' to ease and soothe those muscles used in horse riding.

"The Post hotel was well run and very friendly. The pool, spa and beauty facilities were also very good. Trish found the riding tuition from Lisa rewarding, she had developed some bad habits. The indoor schooling was hard work sometimes and the out door hacks fun with fantastic scenery. She now rides with more poise. I found the skiing was good. I enjoyed the hotel ski-host day although the windy weather stopped us from skiing the Sellaronda. Fortunately the weather was better on the friday and I skied the Sellaronda on my own from Olang to Corones to St Vigilio etc etc Picolin, etc etc to get to Covara the start of the Sellaronda and back to Olang before the lifts stopped!!" "The hotel was first class. My husband had 3 lunge rein lessons with my younger daughter of 5. I was initially put in a lesson with my elder daughter of 8 years but then I joined a more advanced group of 3 riders and we worked our horses individually. My husband and elder daughter also rode out with another couple that only wanted to walk and trot. I loved the riding facilities, and the chats I had with Angelica were very interesting on a dressage level. The less experienced riders were helped tacking up their horses and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. The horses we very well schooled and well behaved. All the people that I met there had either been there before or were planning on coming back again and my family and I are seriously considering going back next year for a longer period. The food and hotel facilities were excellent. We had a great time and would recommend this holiday to all our horsey friends whether they have children or not. It was the first time that I booked such a holiday by internet and I must admit that I was a little worried but I can safely say that it was a very positive experience for us." Trudy, Issoire, France
"The horses were very well schooled, and I benefited from having someone new looking at my riding, pointing out my faults, and helping me sort them out a bit. But it was still exhausting, even with breaks, and most days I hacked out in the morning and did lessons in the afternoon, so I'd already done 2 hours riding before I got to the lessons.. The hotel was great, staff very friendly and professional, food wonderful" Cathy, Stockport UK
