Hotel Dunloe Castle is famous for its Haflinger Ponies - a very gentle, Austrian breed, ideal for children and beginners alike. Take a complimentary trek around the grounds of the hotel and learn more about them along the way. In addition to the ponies which are kept for riding, guests can marvel at the way the mares & stallions live side by side, grazing with some of the cattle from the hotelís own farm.
Boating & Fishing : Drop a line for Brown Trout and Salmon in the River Laune which flows through the Dunloe Estate. Fishing equipment is provided without charge and the kitchen will be pleased to prepare and cook your catch for dinner that evening.
The hotel can arrange the services of a ghillie to instruct and guide you to the most fruitful parts of the river, or you can simply while away a few hours by yourself, the silence only disturbed by the sound of the flowing river.
